Welcome to the Governing Body page of the Bottesford C of E Primary School website.
The Governing Body is a group of 12; made up of representatives of parents, staff, the diocese and the local authority.
Our role is to ensure that the school operates effectively and fulfills its aims. We do this by:
- Working alongside the head teacher as equal partners to provide a strategic view for the school; setting aims, objectives, principles and targets.
- Ensuring accountability, which we do through visiting, monitoring and evaluating the implementation of the policies and procedures that have been put in place.
- Being a ‘critical friend’ of the school; asking challenging questions and celebrating the school’s successes.
- We meet as a full governing body at least three times a year.
We also hold subcommittee meetings (at present there are three subcommittees; Finance, School Development and General Purposes) and these also meet once a term:
We are keen to hear your views about either the school or the work of the Governing Body and you can do this by contacting me via our clerk to the governors firstname.lastname@example.org
