School Cricket Teams Thriving!

Following last year success in the boys and girls cricket competitions, we entered this years tournaments with high hopes and our children did not disappoint. Our girls teams played tremendously well scoring lots of runs and taking lots of wickets to finish 2nd, only 4 runs behind the winners. Our  boys also showed their excellent cricketing skill by blitzing their way to the final against Frisby and taking victory to win the tournament for the 3rd year in a row. Following the boys success, they progressed to the Summer Championships to play teams from around the county.

Year 5 and 6 Boys' Cricket Team

On 25th May, Our Boys' cricket team went off to Melton Cricket Club to compete in the Melton Schools' Kwik Cricket  competition. We were placed in a group alongside Frisby, Sherard, Waltham and Ab Kettleby Primary Schools. After successfully winning all four of our group games in which we scored 1102 runs and took an astonishing 34 wickets, we progressed to the final to play Brownlow Primary School, who were the winners of the other group.

After a very tense final, Bottesford came out victorious, winning the competition for the second year in a row. A fantastic achievement and a great day of cricket for all.
